Curriculum

We strongly believe in hands-on, active learning through child-centered lessons and activities. Through our curriculum, children will be exposed to a variety of subjects. We will observe and make notes as children work, so that we learn about their interests and can create fun and educational activities for everyone. We use The Creative Curriculum in all of our classrooms. This curriculum is specifically written for preschoolers, and it encourages learning through many different methods. Each child will have exposure to free choice independent learning, small group lessons, whole-group teacher directed lessons and hands-on creative projects.

Pre-Kindergarten Program

In our Pre-K program, our students work hard to create positive and long-lasting educational habits. We incorporate all components of literacy such as knowledge of letters and their sounds, vocabulary, rhyming, comprehension, and various print concepts.  Using manipulatives, we learn basic math concepts such as counting, patterning, and sorting.  The interests of the children are identified and used to teach science, social studies, and religion topics.  Along with cognitive development, we work on developing motor skills, independence, social skills, creativity, and how to be an active participant in a classroom environment.

Three Year Old Program

Our Threes program focuses on becoming an inquisitive learner. We continue to work on our language development by learning how to get along with others and build positive social relationships. We ask many questions and investigate many topics to discover more about the world and all that God has given us. Our curriculum is created through the active listening of children’s ideas and interests, and building on those ideas through projects and activities.  We continue to explore with many different kinds of materials and tools as we work on many subject areas. Children are also introduced to letters and their sounds, beginning math skills, and they learn how to interact with their peers as part of a group.

Two Year Old Program

Our play is our work! The highlight of the Twos program is language development. We work on using language to help make meaning of the world around us and communicate more effectively. We practice pre-reading skills such as looking at books and telling stories through picture walks.  Our many activities and lessons involve using language to communicate our thoughts and feelings.  We also enjoy practicing our fine motor skills with a variety of creative and meaningful projects. We learn to use scissors, glue, markers, crayons and other materials as we work.
